Valejas Atlético Clube was founded on 1 November 1966, in the village of Valejas, in the parish of Barcarena, municipality of Oeiras.
The club was born as a sports and recreation association rooted in the Valejas community. Over the years it took on a growing role in promoting sport across the whole parish of Barcarena.
Its origins lie above all in local sport, in neighbours spending time together and in creating activities for the people who live here — and that is what the club still is.
What we still don't know
There is no public record of the founders' names, nor any minutes describing the exact moment the club was founded. If you have documents, photographs or family memories of the club's early days, get in touch — the history of Valejas is still waiting to be written properly.
Share what I knowLong before futsal. The club's first activities were these three — two on legs and wheels, one for getting together outside the clubhouse.

No exact dates — there's no record to pin them down. So this isn't a timeline: it's the order in which things happened.
The clubhouse sits in the Jamor valley, between Barcarena and Queluz de Baixo. It has always been at the same address.
It also appears as Estrada das Palmeiras, 1A.
